3 celebrations for our 3-year old!

Look who's happy to be 3!

Sofie's third birthday was a series of celebrations throughout her birthday week. It started off with the party of her dreams: she decked herself out, accessories and all, in her new Cinderella costume, and invited 20 of her little friends to tour a real bakery, make, decorate and EAT cupcakes at Babycakes! It was a blast. They ran around like mad, with princesses draping themselves all over each other, and the boys seeming to blend right into it all. Of course, they all got their hands right into the cupcake prep (or so they thought), and wasted now time gobbling (or licking, for some) lots of icing and sprinkles to their hearts' content. The party ended with a fairy princess pinata for the girls, and Thomas the Train for the boys. The kids left with full bellies, and so much sugar in their tummies and goody bags, that the parents were likely cursing us for the next week. Sofie came home and ripped open her mountain of presents, with Daddy watching in dismay as one pink thing after another was unearthed. She's still enjoying it all now...

The birthday girl also had two mini celebrations to follow up; after all, what 3 year old shouldn't have 3 parties. At school, we chose a "Pinkalicious" theme, based off of one of her favorite books. It was a simple storytime, but topped off with pink cupcakes for all! Sasha came along for the party and the girls in the class ooh-ed and ahh-ed over her, until she cried.

Last but not least, on her actual birthday, she put on her new Aurora costume and had a final celebration at home. Another cake, another song, and one last present!

And the present that obviously took the cake
(We hope this will set her straight: Paris Hilton is NOT Barbie.)
